You became popular thanks to yourfun and informative videos on YouTube about Vietnamese. What made you decide to start creating those videos?

I LOVE the Vietnamese language.I think the language itself has a lot of character and it allows me toexpress myself more in some aspects. Itreally breaks my heart when I see peers or children not knowing Vietnamese whocannot talk to lớn their relatives. There’sa huge disconnect because of the language and culture barrier and it kills mebecause they are missing out on the community connection. I am really blessed to lớn be able khổng lồ connect tothe adults around me và I’ve sầu been able lớn gain so much wisdom from them, so Iwant lớn vì whatever it takes khổng lồ help my Vietnamese American community bởi vì thesame.

To be honest, I am really blessed that my mom forced me lớn speakVietnamese at home và I actually enjoyed Vietnamese dubbed dramas. It was nothard at all since I used it everyday with my family. Now, reading và writing is anotherstory. I think for that I had toreconnect with family in Vietphái mạnh và make friends with Vietnamese peopleoverseas who did not know how lớn write English. This forced me to read andwrite Vietnamese. Praise the Lord forvoice-to-text… that helped me tremendously.

Do you have any tips lớn makestudying Vietnamese easier?

In everything, you have to know why you are learning in the first place. What is your purpose in learning and practicing Vietnamese? Is it to impress your friends? Is it lớn connect khổng lồ your family members? Or is it to lớn pass a class to get your elective credits? If someone is really serious about learning Vietnamese, they need a community. If you are never practicing it or forced lớn use Vietnamese, it will be almost impossible to lớn fully master the language. So my tip is khổng lồ find a community & use it, maybe even watch a few movies that are Vietnamese. I learned my Vietnamese through constantly watching Vietnamese dubbed Hong-Kong dramas.

What message vì chưng you want to lớn sharethrough your videos?

Appreciate the Vietnamese language & culture. I know a lot of non-Vietnamese speakersreally enjoy my videos, but if you read the comments, you will find many peoplecomment things lượt thích, “This is so much funnier if you understvà it,” or “Thismade me laugh so hard because I actually know Vietnamese.” So I want toencourage all people lớn explore the language and culture because it really isbeautiful and something I want everyone khổng lồ be proud of.
